Here …..we…. go……

Back at it again for another week of madness!! United are back?! I am sure a lot of United fans are happy with last week’s result against Spurs however it does damage for potential assets moving forward with the new 5-3-2 formation. Spurs – do we see people getting in the wing backs now with Conte’s new system? Do we see the FPL King of a few years ago Matt Doherty return? Does Kane get his confidence back now a big manager has come in. Arsenal seemed to have turned the corner with a run of great results and with the likes of Smith Rowe, Saka and Auba clicking we could see them go on a run with potential hits. I’M FOREVER BLOWING BUBBLES could be the theme tune for the year – what a year the Hammers are having! A great result last week and that’s without Antonio banging. Chlesea and their wingbacks James and Chilwell are flying at the top and at the moment they look unstoppable however will we see a rotation to keep players happy ?!– who knows! Sooo – what is the plan for this week? Here are some suggestions for Gameweek 11.

GW11 SUGGESTIONS

We will start with FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. Saints v Villa. Villa had a poor result last week at home to West Ham and will be looking to bounce back with a result against Southampton. Livramento seems to be the real bargain FPL player with numerous hits in the first 10 weeks. Will he keep a clean sheet and get an attacking return? He seems the obvious choice as your 5th defender in your team and I would be one for getting him in. Other assets to look at it is Ollie Watkins, who scored last week, Adam Armstrong or James Ward Prowse who is on set pieces and penalties. I would be backing a Southampton win at home at the narrowest of margins.

Saturday sees a number of good fixtures to gain points however we start with the early kick off United v City. As my good friend Conall Mc Cann said in a recent blog. NEVER BACK THE EARLY KICKOFF!!

This fixture does cause a few headaches. Do you get in a United Defender – Wan Bissaka or Shaw now they are playing defensive? Do you keep Cancelo on or Bench? Does Pep rotate? Will this be a draw? I have a feeling this game will be a draw and Keeping Joao Cancelo on the pitch for a cleaner seems the obvious choice. City will obviously dominate possession however their lack killer instinct may result in a draw. United will not be looking for a repeat of a two weeks ago against Liverpool and looking to frustrate United. Some suggestions for this week would be – Shaw, Cancelo, Aaron Wan – Bissaka, Dias and Foden.

It was fantastic to see on Monday Night Football Raul Jimenez back scoring goals. What a player he is. Wolves look extremely good and could go on a run with Jimenez back amongst the goals. He does seem like a steal at 7.5m with his fixtures over the next 3 weeks. Other players to consider is Hwang Lee Chan – nearly had another goal the other night and at 5.7m he does look a good cheap option. Palace on the other hand had a great result at the Eithad and look an exciting team with some tasty players. The one who stands out for me is Conor Gallagher at 5.7m. Great goal last week and his fixtures make him look even more enticing to get in! Other options to consider is Zaha at 6.9m and if you wanted a differential Olise at 5.4m. He has passed the FPL eye test with me and is only 0.1% owned. Has created 2 assists in his last two games. However he may be an option for further down the line.

Brighton v Newcastle is the evening kickoff on Saturday evening. It looks like Eddie Howe is set to be confirmed as the new boss which could result in getting a few Toon players in. If so, you would definitely be looking at the Wilson Fraser double up under Howe’s tactics. Brighton on the other hand have an extremely good run of fixtures coming up and I would be looking to double up if you can. A defender like Shane Duffy or Lewis Dunk who are both effective at either ends of the pitch. Leonardo Trossard at 6.4m looks a great price especially playing as part of the front 3 in Brighton’s formation. He has accumulated a very promising 41 points so far and is only 1.8% owned. An extremely differential would be Enock Mwepu at 5.9m who scored a screamer last week against Liverpool and he could be an option to get you further higher with your rank.

Chelsea v Burnley looks set to be another Chelsea win especially with the form they are showing. If you don’t have James or Chilwell at the moment, I would be moving mountains to get them in. They have done extremely well for me over the past few weeks, and they seem to be undroppable with their returns. However, Tuchel is prone to rotation and you could see a change over a week or so. Another assest to consider would be Havertz who is playing upfront now in an attacking team however I don’t feel he returns enough or consistent enough (my own opinion – I could be proven wrong!!) Burnley had a great win last week against high flying Brentford. Maxwel Cornet has been on my radar for a number of weeks as I know how good of a player he is through my Football Manager days. He has had a goal/assist every 76 minutes in his start to the Premier League and looks like a great option.

Brentford v Norwich. This is a great game to maybe double/triple up in Brentford players. Norwich look like they are set for relegation at this early stage and Brentford are flying at the moment as a promoted team. Toney, Mbeumo, Pinnock or Canos would be my options to get into your team to get points.

On Sunday we have 4 fixtures with Arsenal v Watford up first. Like I mentioned up above – Smith Rowe, Saka, Auba, Ben White or Ramsdale seem to be the best/cheap options to get in as they are playing well. A differential to consider for Arsenal would be Nuno Tavares at Left Back. Kieran Tierney is a quality player but injury prone and Tavares has started very well and you could see your rank increase with Tavares as your differential. Watford are a mixed bag – nobody seen the result coming against Everton a few weeks ago and you thought they would continue on against Southampton but lost 1-0. Your best picks for Watford would be Sarr and Dennis as they seem to be the most influential players and players who are contributing to goals and assists.

Everton v Spurs. With Conte in and moving to a 3-5-2 with high flying wing backs you could see some players returning big hits in the upcoming weeks. Emmerson Royal seems to be the first choice RWB and Reguilion the LWB. With how high Conte wants his full backs you could definitely see an attacking return out of these two. With Conte not knowing his best team at the minute and finding out who fits in, Matt Doherty could well be back on the cards and at 4.7m he would be one to get in and get ahead of the curve. Everton are on a slippy slide at the minute. They need to get Cavert Lewin back quick to get them firing. Gray or Townsend are good options to have and at 5.8m/5.7m could be your 4th choice midfielder.

The remaining two fixtures see Leeds v Leicester and West Ham v Liverpool. Leeds player to consider is definitely Raphinha if you don’t already have him. He is such a quality player but you hope he just can turn his ability into more goals and assists. Leeds are struggling with squad depth, injuries and without Patrick Bamford. A differential to consider would be Rodrigo. He is upfront in an attacking team and last week’s goal could see a start of a few returns. Leicester are very much up and down at the minute. They had a great win against Manchester United a few weeks ago but a bad defeat against Arsenal last week. Players to consider over the next weeks is obviously Vardy but someone to maybe think about who looks really exciting is Patson Daka. If you are top heavy in your midfield he is a great choice at 7.1m and we could definitely see some rotation with himself and Vardy in the next few weeks.

Liverpool – what more can we say about Mo Salah? He is the FPL King. Not only is the best player in the world at the moment, he will probably go down as the best FPL player too. He needs to be in your team and on most weeks he needs to be your captain. Trent, Jota and Mane are other options to consider as Liverpool look to continue their great start to the League. West Ham have become a really good side under David Moyes. Antonio upfront has been a revelation and his the best option to have. They have a tough run of fixtures with Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City , Brighton and Wolves ahead. Some other people to consider would be Fornals and Benhrama who seem to be closest to getting attacking returns to Antonio.

Captain options

As I mentioned above – NEVER BACK THE EARLY KICK OFF. 9 times out of 10 it rarely hits. So I wouldn’t be captaining any United or City players. You know what’s happening now don’t you? Someone is going to bang and I will look like a fool! Just my opinion!!

Any Chelsea player looks like a great choice at home to Burnley. Can Reece James continue with his attacking returns? Ben Chilwell come up another goal? Kai Havertz bang in a few goals? If you are backing a Chelsea player – Reece James would be my choice.

It is a tough week to predict a captain to hit. You can always set and forget and know that more than likely Mo Salah will get some return. Best Player in the league. Best FPL Asset. Don’t overthink it. Just do it. The advantage of having him captain is that they are the last league game of the week and you can have a good return up to it knowing/hoping your captain will hit.

Some differentials to think about in my own opinion would be Smith Rowe or Kane. Two players who could see your Gameweek Rank go through the roof if they hit. A risk yes but something to consider!!

Hope you all have a successful Gameweek and we have nothing but green arrows.

HERE WE GO!!
